Vinny’s Story

One of the early Board & Train clients at Well-Balanced Dog Training was Vinny - a very sweet but stubborn Boxer. (Just look at that face! A picture tells a thousand words.)

His mom, Lori, noticed his reactivity increasing and found it hard to walk him. She also noted that he became excited around people to the point where it became problematic.

Lori enrolled Vinny in WBDT’s Board & Train program, and Meaghen got to work getting Vinny on a routine that gave him clear expectations, boundaries and confidence. Vinny thrived under Meaghen’s care - putting in full days of training at WBDT HQ and then reinforcing his learnings in a comfortable home environment each night.

A month after his Board & Train graduation, Lori reached out to share that Vinny was back to being his best self. His energy had become much more measured. Rather than worrying that he would overwhelm or frighten others, Lori and Vinny now moved through the world with confidence - knowing that both owner and dog could remain cool, calm and collected.
